"My son and I stayed at 4 Bears Bed & Breakfast this past August during our Wyoming road trip. What a great place! George is a terrific host and a great cook. We sure enjoyed his company. He really went out of his way to be sure we were comfortable. Very scenic and relaxing place."
A wonderful alternative to staying in touristy Cody!
"It was just by chance after learning all the motels we wanted to stay in Cody were full, that we stopped in Meeteetse and asked if there might be a B&B in town. We stayed one night and wish we had stayed longer. The setting is spectacular, and the Moose Room was very comfortable. George and his animals are gracious hosts. Food is good but not for vegetarians."
Beautiful home away from home
"Chatting with George over a beer in the evening was fun and waking up to that beautiful scenery around his home is just awesome. George is a wonderful host who also makes a delicious breakfast, especially the sausage! Wish I could have stayed more than one night."
A great get away
"The location is so beautiful. You can sit outside at night and have a campfire and the stars are so close with no outside lights. The bed was very comfortable and made for a great nights sleep. Your host will take great care of you. You will enjoy your stay."
"My daughter and I enjoyed sharing George’s ranch for a few days. So peaceful and quiet. He has several Mules and a sweet dog. The breakfast was more than anyone could eat. Very clean and well kept. I would recommend this to anyone that wants to get out of the city and back to nature (maybe listen to their inter self) relax!!! Great display of animals,"
Comfortable and Serene
We were on a 7 day bicycle journey in Wyoming and opted to stay in hotels vs. tents. When our tour took us through Meeteetse, we found 4 Bears Bed & Breakfast and loved it. George was so kind and shuttled us to and from town. It is quite a unique B&B, very interesting! Our room was so comfortable and great views of the ranch and Greybull Valley. After a wonderful night's sleep, George made us a yummy breakfast that fueled our 75 mile ride that day. Not far from Yellowstone and certainly a peaceful place to stay after touring the park!
A Beautiful, Quiet Place to Stay
My wife Phyllis and I stayed in the Moose Den, the largest of George Meyer's two guest rooms. As soon as we drove the 8-miles west of Meeteetse, WY, and down the drive to George's 4 Bears B & B, we knew we had chosen the right place. I didn't even need to introduce myself; George met us as we parked our SUV, and said, "Hi, Jerry!" This began our three night stay with a great guy at his B & B that overlooks the beautiful valley of the Greybull River in north central Wyoming. We signed up for George's 4-hour mountain tour that included the old mining town of Kirwin, abandoned in the early days of the 20th century. The spectacular scenery will satisfy the most demanding. Phyllis and I brought some firearms with us, and we enjoyed a shoot with George at his range. Jerry even got to shoot a cylinder full from George's big S & W 500, that made my Ruger .44 Remington Magnum look like a pop-gun. What a hoot that was. Anyway, if you want to stay in a slice of beautiful country, with a man who will do his best to make you feel welcome, and cook you a great breakfast besides, I highly recommend George Meyer and his 4 Bears B & B. As the poet laureate of the Yukon, Robert Service said in his Spell of the Yukon, "A valley plumb full of hush to the brim." You will have that, and breakfast besides.
We had an amazing time staying at 4 Bears. George is a fantastic host and helped us find special things to experience in the area. The scenery is spectacular. We didn't want to leave!! :) We'll definitely make it there again.
Excellent "home on the range" bed and breakfast
George was a wonderful host for our party of 2 couples in mid-September. We stayed downstairs in a bedroom with bathroom in hall while our friends stayed in main floor room with private bath. His B&B is like a museum of large and small game animals. The view is spectacular and the quiet will soothe you. He has a fire pit outside and we could have walked to a little lake nearby. Breakfast was scrumptious and way more than we could ever have eaten. We enjoyed getting to know him and we look forward to returning one day.
Very special B&B in the middle of the beautiful Wyoming countryside, in a homey environment. George goes out of his way to make you feel welcome. Good bed, nice shower. We stayed here after a visit to Yellowstone NP.
We really enjoyed our two night stay. It was our first visit to a bed and breakfast. Our bedroom and bath were spacious and the view was fantastic! George was a great host!!! We loved the wildlife tours George took us on and we saw lots of deer, antelope, and elk. We look forward to another visit soon with George at 4 Bears bed and breakfast.
A great place to stay away from the crowds to enjoy scenery and wildlife. Ground level room is large...
Great b and b off the beaten path
George was very welcoming and our room was spotless and comfortable. Great place to relax and get away from it all. And great value for the price. The home is on his small ranch, and you'll definitely appreciate the Midwest friendliness.
Excellent taxidermy in his home too :)
Amazing view, great host, would opt for the room on the ground floor - since this has a view (instead of the basement). George is nice person with a lot of great stories to tell - especially around his great hunting career.
A wonderful place to stay!
4 Bears bed and breakfast was a great place to stay; George, our host, was a great cook and tour guide to the beauties of Wyoming! Two beautiful mules greeted us as we drove up and a friendly dog; the room was very comfortable and spacious. I can't say enough good about our stay. I will let you figure out where the name of the bed and breakfast came from!
The room was clean and very comfortable.
A little piece of Paradise.
My mother and I really enjoyed our stay it was a highlight of our trip. It was fresh air, amazing scenery, and all the comforts of home. George made us feel like family, our room was comfortable and relaxing after a long journey it was the perfect place to unwind. I highly recommend to take this off the beaten path stop at the 4 bears to recharge your batteries enjoy this authentic experience that seems harder and harder to find. My only regret is that we couldn't stay longer.
A rustic ranch with awesome views. A quiet peaceful place set off the beaten path. I felt so free. We enjoyed George's soft spoken gentle spirit and interacting with his 2 mules, horse and dog. The rooms were spacious and clean. If you are looking for a peaceful get away this is the place for you. My only regret was not staying longer. Oh and the cowboy breakfast was fantastic.
What a great b&b.
Wonderful atmosphere, great host and so peaceful. The view from the bed and breakfast is beautiful, interacting with the donkeys was so much fun and George made us a delicious home cooked breakfast. So glad I found the 4 Bears Bed and Breakfast and hope that someday I can return.
Our awesome experience at 4 bears bed and breakfast.
We have been to many places and lodges, but this one beats them all by far. The host is very friendly, the view from the cabin is terrific, the scenery and atmosphere is too beautiful for words. The list goes on and on. We went on a tour into the mountains and it was outstanding. The breakfast the host served us was fantastic. We were treated like family. We got to see the deer and antelope fawns play out in front of the cabin and we saw some huge bucks on the tour. It was an experience of a lifetime. We will definitely be back. Check it out on facebook.
Beautiful valley veiw
George was very knowledgeable about the area. His hunting trophies are amazing. The bed was very comfortable after a long ride in the car. Breakfast in the morning was over the top good. The veiw of the valley makes the stay one of a kind. The best view in the valley.
Very cool, unplanned pleasant visit, enroute to Yellowstone
Very nice B&B, if you are planning an overnight stay in Cody before or after a visit to Yellowstone National Park I highly suggest this as a much better option! George is a very good host and makes a mean breakfast!
Stay with a real gentleman, off the beaten path and no Yellowstone traffic
George is a wonderful host and my husband and I really enjoyed our visit. The Moose den is super spacious and tastefully decorated in an authentic lodge style, complete with many of his hunting trophies. The bed was comfortable, everything was immaculate and breakfast was delicious.
I would recommend staying at 4 Bears bed and breakfast for several reasons. After spending a couple of days inside Yellowstone, we were very frustrated with staying in Cody and driving the long distance into the crowded park. I was also afraid of bears and needing to carry bear spray. Like that's going to turn out well if we actually come in contact with a bear! George is a skilled marksman having grown up and then taking over his family farm, so I felt safe. We joined him on a gorgeous early morning hike and saw antelope and elk and no other people. His 2 dogs are sweet and welcome walking companions. The back porch has an incredible view of the valley for just chilling out. You could come here for a digital detox, a writing retreat, or even to lose some weight just talking walks in the hilly surroundings. There are a couple of restaurants 8 miles away and more up in Cody, about 30 min away. There are also petroglyphys (carvings in rock from ancient people) on Legend Rock that are work checking out between Thermopolis and George's place.
George is very flexible and you can book shooting lessons (my husband loved getting the chance to shoot a 50 caliber hand gun), guided hunting or home cooked meals. Just ask! Thanks again for your fabulous hospitality!
